ABOUT

Diary of Disposables is an international photography project founded by Jamaal Davies in 2014 in Washington, DC. Our mission is to distribute cameras to artists around the world, empowering them to visually explore diverse cultures, lifestyles, and environments. Through the medium of photography, we aim to document and archive the unique essence of our generation. We believe that photography is a powerful tool for capturing the spirit of our time and preserving it for future generations. By providing artists with cameras, we encourage them to embark on a visual journey, capturing the beauty and diversity of the world around us. Our goal is to create a comprehensive visual archive that represents our generation in all its complexity. We believe that through the lens of a camera, artists can tell stories, express emotions, and capture moments that define our era. By documenting various cultures, lifestyles, and environments, we aim to foster understanding, appreciation, and dialogue among people from different backgrounds. As we distribute cameras and collect photographs, We strive to build a community of artists who can support and inspire each other, fostering collaboration and growth in their creative pursuits.
